I really thought I liked Hello Kitty. As a child. I think it is very- cute-for my nieces. I appreciate now how they are still marketing towards me. They know I love MAC products and they are using MAC to reach consumers like myself who grew up in the Hello Kitty Era way back in the 70’s and early 80’s. I am enticed everyday in my inbox by “Kouture Kitty” that MAC is selling. I must admit I followed the link and came upon a Swarovski Crystalized compact featuring Hello Kitty. $90.00. I think I could find something much more cooler to spend my $90.00 on now that I am an adult. We need to kill the kitty. I have seen enough of her and Jennifer Anniston.
I have moved on in my life now. I made the unfortunate mistake of picking up a copy of the “A New Earth” at the airport last weekend. I started to read it on the plane but then after two cocktails I just could not wrap my brain about what the hell he was trying to say. So I picked it back up the other day and told myself I would not let this book intimidate me and it is not gonna hurt if I try to skim through and get the gist of it.
It sucks. Every single thing you do in your life is because you have a huge ego and you are just trying to feed it. That’s it, that’s the message. You selfish, arrogant piece of shit.
Quite a blow, I would say. This books tells me that I can no longer make fun of people, say negative things about people, put down people in front of other people for fun, I no longer am able to think about ANYTHING. I just have to be AWARE of everything. What the hell is there to do now? Apparently making fun of people etc. is actually poisoning my body and I could die from it. The book is making me very angry, I am about half way through. I understand the whole ego thing and have actually caught myself (when in conversation) thinking “oh yeah, well I am taller than you, and you have some major split ends….oh and your husband is really fat.” Rude I know, but at least I did not say it this time. I was just thinking it. AWARE.
I believe that is the whole point of the book, is to be aware of your awareness, let go of your thoughts if they are only trying to feed your own ego. So I am now having all these egotistical thoughts staying in my head instead of being directed verbally to the person who should be receiving them. I would think that is not healthy for me either.
